If you’re dreaming of a picturesque wedding in the heart of the Lake District, let me tell you about a lovely couple who chose to tie the knot at Askham Hall. This place is pure magic, with its stunning gardens, historic architecture, and breathtaking views. Seriously, if you haven’t checked it out yet, you should! Take a peek at their website here and see what I mean.
Sophie and Chris wanted something special, something that felt cozy and personal. They decided to have a smaller wedding instead and honestly, what a brilliant choice! With a more intimate guest list, they were able to truly connect with each person there. Imagine the heartfelt conversations, the laughter shared, and the love that filled the air—just perfect!

Every corner offers a new spot for that perfect photo, and the natural beauty around you just adds to the romance of the day. The couple took advantage of the gorgeous setting, capturing memories that will last a lifetime.
The ceremony was also a very intimate one with subtle lighting and in a room that allowed for all the guests to be present in the moment. You can really feel the emotion between Sophie and Chris in their intimate ceremony.

Fine Art Wedding Photography at Askham Hall
As a fine art photographer at Askham Hall, I find myself immersed in a setting that beautifully blends history and natural elegance. The venue, with its stunning gardens and rustic architecture, offers a rich tapestry of textures and colours. It’s a space where the play of light and shadow transforms ordinary moments into extraordinary visuals which really helps to capture emotion and atmosphere in my work.

Capturing intimate moments against the backdrop of Askham Hall allows me to create images that not only reflect the love between couples but also the venue’s enchanting spirit. Each photograph becomes a blend of art and emotion, where the essence of the space elevates the story being told, making it a truly rewarding experience for both the couples and myself as an artist.
The gardens as well are amazing for portraits in the same fine art and natural style that I adore, creating emotive and romantic images any time of year!
Here are a few from their day in the beautiful gardens just a short walk from the main hall;
Instead of the traditional dancing and late-night revelry, Sophie and Chris opted for a lovely candlelight dinner to end their day. There’s something incredibly intimate about sharing a meal by candlelight, isn’t there? It allowed everyone to relax, enjoy great food, and bask in the warmth of each other’s company without the distractions that often come with bigger weddings.
I have written a comprehensive venue guide to getting married at Askham which you can view here and covers all sizes and kinds of weddings there, so if you’re looking for a wedding photographer for any size of wedding at Askham Hall then please get in touch with me today and lets talk about your plans.
