Natacha & Tom’s Cragwood Wedding
Natacha and Tom’s day at Cragwood Country House was forecast to be glorious, and then the rain had other ideas. But some of the best wedding days I’ve photographed have been the ones where the weather didn’t cooperate, and this was one of them.
Natacha was dealing with long Covid at the time, so we kept the pace of the day gentle and unhurried, nothing was rushed, and there was no pressure to power through a long list of poses or locations. It turned into one of the most relaxed, intimate weddings I’ve shot at Cragwood, just a small group of people who mattered, taking their time over the day instead of racing through it.
Despite the rain, there was no shortage of laughter. Cragwood’s mix of covered terraces and cosy interior spaces meant we could keep things going comfortably indoors whenever the weather closed in, then step back out the moment it eased.
Once the ceremony and celebrations were done, we made a short trip out to Blea Tarn for a few quieter portraits away from the venue; a nice contrast to the grandeur of Cragwood, and a lovely way to end the day somewhere wild and still.
If you’re planning a wedding or elopement at Cragwood, and especially if you’re hoping to keep things low-key and personal, I’d love to hear from you.
