This wedding was one of my very first destination weddings and it was to the incredible location of Geneva in Switzerland. I was filled with excitement and the possibility, I had long been in talks with Jamie about the plan for me to come over and to capture the day using my relaxed and natural approach to wedding photography. Jamie and Elijah are also awesome photographers in their own right, so it was a real honour to be asked be theirs. It is always a real pleasure to be entrusted to be a fellow creative, or this case creatives, wedding. I was also very excited to be in an amazing new part of the world and to explore. The day started beautifully, wonderful weather a warm breeze and lots of excitement.
Their wedding was a an incredible natural approach, using the outdoor environment atop mount Geneva, complete with paper origami decorations and bunting. When we were around 3 minutes from the destination, the sky opened up and let a torrent of rain, lighting and all manor of weather. The wedding nearly washed away. The spirit of the day came through, guests pulled together, friends and family stood firm against nature and simply moved the wedding into the barn area. It will be a wedding I will never forget, I have never felt such closeness at a wedding, it was truly an honour to be there. Checkout another Switzerland wedding I covered recently here.
