I love being able to capture elopements in the Lake District especially when it is in such beautiful surroundings. The Gilpin Lodge & Lake House in Windermere in the Lake District is one such stunning location to feature an elopement and what a day this was! The Gilpin Lake House is a beautiful and intimate wedding and elopement location in the very heart of the lake district. It has stunning views over the Lake, amazing grounds and the best thing of all, a few boat that allows guests and couples to have a lovely row together!
Outdoor Elopement Ceremony in the Lake District
I was so excited to be a part of this elopement, the couple had planned some amazing things for their day. The weather was incredible on the day, meaning we expired the grounds for some awesome images of the bride and groom and their witnesses, perfect for an outdoor elopement in the Lake District.
Right after the ceremony the new bride and groom headed for the row boats along with their witnesses for a row around the Gilpin’s private lake! Check out the amazing shots we got of that below! We then headed to Slaters bridge which is a stunning river and surrounds. Check out another recent Lake District Elopement here. If you are planning an intimate wedding or elopement at the Gilpin Lake House or anywhere in the Lake District please get in touch and lets chat about your plans.
For Couples Who Don’t Want to Pose For Photos On Their Elopement
The Gilpin is a very exclusive, beautiful venue in the heart of the Lake District and it’s lake house is just incredibly special, as you have seen in their wedding photos above. The bride and groom both got ready at the venue and met down but the boat shed for their ceremony. Once the imitate ceremony had concluded they got in a row boat rowed across the private lake that the Gilpin provides. I took very natural photographs here without diction or posing, allowing the two to enjoy their day to it’s absolute fullest.
The Gilpin Lake House – A Stunning Wedding & Elopement Venue
I loved working with my talented friend Amy Leigh on this wedding, we took the best photographs together as a team. The boat shed was dressed so beautifully, now a place you can sit on the comfy sofas in there and watch over the lake and house. The Gilpin Lake House really does have it all for your adventurous elopement in the Lake District.

Hello,
Myself and my partner, Adam, have booked our wedding at Gilpin Lake House for 1st June 2023. We are having an intimate wedding with 30ish guests. I love the natural looking photographs you have shot at The Gilpin! What options do you have for smaller weddings? I don’t think we would want a photographer for the entire day and wondered if that’s an option with you?
Thank you,
Jess Shaw
Hi Jesccia,
I offer a smaller elopement and short coverage package, would you like to email me on info@christopherian.co.uk and I can send over more into there.
