West Mill Wedding Venue Darley Abbey
Derby has a stunning wedding venue in the form of The West Mill and it’s particularly amazing for photography. For me this has become one of my favourite wedding venues in Derbyshire. Set in the middle of Darley Abbey Mills, Derbyshire, this recently converted mill is one of the more trendy venues in the area. Its one of those wedding venues that fits hand in hand with my style of photography as a natural wedding photographer.
The West Mill Wedding Photography
West Mill wedding photography is something that I adore– what a show stopping venue! The location of the building is also positioned on the riverbanks, giving stunning views of the River Derwent. Inside the West Mill it has barrel-vaulted ceilings, exposed brick walls, cast iron columns and beams. It has a real charm of its own and one that is sure to impress for your wedding venue. Gilly and James chose it for the very reasons many do -that it is a stunning and unique wedding venue in Derbyshire! They had the best day, very chilled and relaxed and enjoying the mill for its amazing views over river Derwent and the unique aesthetic it provides.
Wedding Venue History
The West Mill is a a Grade I listed building that was a former industrial mill in the early 1800’s. It was a cotton spinning mill and played a an important part in the industrial revolution. It was left derelict for number of decades it was then lovingly restored back to life and is now one of the most wonderful wedding venues. The mill’s renovation has retained all of the industrial architecture of the 1800’s. It has retained much of the industrial furniture and some machinery and is a real treat to see in person.
Its easy to see why so many couples choose it as their wedding venue, check out Gilly and James’ perfect wedding day at the West Mill:
