Helen and Matt had a wonderful wedding day in the heart of the Lake District. Starting at the gorgeous Belmount Hall for prep and the ceremony itself then from there on to the Coniston for a boat ride for all their family and friends! If that wasn’t enough it was then a jaunt to Yew Tree Farm, a very beautiful place that was Beaterix Potters farm! amazing! They had guests from all over the world attend as well, even Inuit people that Matt had met on his travels that had become good friends!

Natural Wedding Photographs at Yew Tree Farm

Yew Tree Farm was owned by Beatrix Potter in the 1930s and you can still see her furnishings. The farm was featured as  ‘Hill Top’ in the movie ‘Miss Potter’ that starred Rene Zellweger. They converted the pig shed, previously filled with animals, hay and farming equipment into the location for the reception which turned out incredibly well. Coniston water was host to the boat trip that the whole wedding party was able to embark on! what a day this was, so much to do and see and never a dull moment! This is one of the reasons I truly love the Lake District as a wedding photographer, it afford some amazing things for you and your guests to do. I have made an article on getting married in the Lake District so if you are planning a wedding or elopement in the Lakes it’s worth reading. Check out another amazing Lake District wedding I captured recently here.

On the day of their wedding we had the best light and sunshine all day, making it perfect for hosting such a wonderful occasion. Their friends and family and other guests enjoyed walking the grounds, enjoying the views and experiencing the Lake District in all its summer glory! The wedding photos here we so natural, the couple not wanting posed shots wanted to have those candid, documentary moments with their guests with no formalities (other than their group photographs of course!)

Yew Tree Farm also has  some stunning grounds for you and your guests to enjoy on your wedding day. As well as being an awesome wedding venue in the heart of the Lake District it is also a museum to one of the countries most cherished authors. Worth a visit even if you have a passing interest in Beatrix Potter.

This wedding location is one of those unique places that you must visit, Yew Tree Farm has it all. I offer natural and relaxed wedding photography for couples who hate the idea of posing but love the idea of emotive, soulful photographs of their wedding day.
